Community Guidelines

Last updated:

Dona is an online marketplace and live-video shopping service for Uzbekistan, operated by GreenApps Private Limited ("GreenApps", "we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated in Singapore with its registered office at 20 Collyer Quay #09-01, Singapore 049319. These Community Guidelines explain how we expect everyone to behave on Dona — Buyers, Sellers and anyone who watches a stream, sends a chat message, leaves a review, or otherwise takes part in our community.

We publish these Guidelines for transparency and to keep Dona a safe, honest and welcoming place to shop and sell. They apply alongside our Terms & Conditions, Acceptable Use Policy and Safety & Harmful Content Policy. Nothing in these Guidelines overrides the mandatory consumer-protection and personal-data rights that the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan gives you — those rights always prevail for users in Uzbekistan. This document is provided in English, Russian and Uzbek; the English version is authoritative, but your rights under Uzbek law are unaffected by the language you read.

1. Our values

Dona brings Sellers and Buyers together through live video and real-time chat. That only works when people trust one another. Four values guide everything we ask of you:

  • Respect — treat every person on Dona the way you would want to be treated, whether you are a Buyer, a Seller, or simply watching.
  • Honesty — describe products accurately, review them truthfully, and never try to mislead people about who you are or what you are selling.
  • Safety — help keep the community, and especially young people, safe from harm, harassment and illegal content.
  • Real connection — Dona is at its best when interactions are genuine. Fake reviews, staged scarcity and manipulation break the trust the whole community depends on.

These Guidelines turn those values into practical rules. They are not exhaustive — if something clearly goes against the spirit of respect, honesty, safety and real connection, we may act on it even if it is not spelled out below.

2. Who these Guidelines apply to

These Guidelines apply to everyone who uses Dona, on the website https://dona.uz and in the Dona mobile apps (application id im.dona.app):

  • Buyers — people who browse, watch streams, chat, ask questions and place orders.
  • Sellers — individuals or registered businesses who list products, go live and sell to Buyers. One account can act as both Buyer and Seller.
  • Viewers and participants — anyone who takes part in a live stream, sends reactions, or posts any user-generated content ("UGC"), including chat messages, reviews, photos and comments.

By using Dona you agree to follow these Guidelines. Sellers also agree to the Seller Agreement, and all users agree to the Terms & Conditions and Acceptable Use Policy, which contain the binding legal rules. Where those documents and these Guidelines overlap, read them together.

3. What we ask you to do

Good behaviour on Dona is simple. We ask everyone to:

  • Be kind. Speak to Sellers, Buyers and other viewers with courtesy, even when you disagree or are unhappy with an order. Raise problems calmly and give people a chance to help.
  • Be accurate. Whether you are describing a product, answering a question in chat, or writing a review, tell the truth as you honestly know it.
  • Be respectful in live streams. Chat should add to the experience — ask real questions, share genuine reactions, and let others take part too.
  • Give useful reviews. Explain what you actually bought and experienced so other Buyers can make good decisions.
  • Follow the law and platform rules. Only buy, sell, promote and discuss things that are legal in Uzbekistan and permitted under our Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy.
  • Report problems. If you see something harmful, misleading or against these Guidelines, report it so we can look into it.

If you are ever unsure whether something is allowed, treat it as if it is not, and contact us at hello@dona.uz.

4. What is not allowed

The following behaviour is not permitted anywhere on Dona — in chat, in live streams, in reviews, in product listings, in profiles or in messages. This list works together with our Acceptable Use Policy and Safety & Harmful Content Policy; where those policies go into more detail, they apply in full.

  • Harassment and bullying — targeting, threatening, intimidating or repeatedly pestering another person.
  • Hate speech — attacking or demeaning people based on nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, disability, age or other protected characteristics.
  • Spam — repetitive, unwanted or automated messages, mass posting of links, off-topic promotion, or flooding chat.
  • Misleading or fake reviews — reviews you were paid or rewarded to write, reviews of products you never bought, review-swapping, or ratings intended to unfairly boost or damage a Seller.
  • Sharing other people's personal data — posting someone's phone number, address, payment details, photos or other private information without their consent (often called "doxxing"). See our Privacy Policy.
  • Impersonation — pretending to be Dona, another Seller, a brand, a public figure or any person you are not.
  • Scams and fraud — promoting fake giveaways, off-platform "deals", pyramid schemes, phishing, or any attempt to trick people out of money or information.
  • Adult, violent or illegal content — sexual content, graphic violence, content that promotes self-harm, and content that promotes or depicts illegal activity are not allowed. Serious safety issues are covered by our Safety & Harmful Content Policy.
  • Selling prohibited or restricted goods — see the Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy for items such as weapons, drugs and precursors, restricted alcohol/tobacco, medicines, and counterfeit goods.

Trying to get around these rules — for example with alternate accounts, coded language or deliberate misspellings — is itself a breach of these Guidelines.

5. Rules for Sellers going live

Live shopping is the heart of Dona, and Sellers who go live carry extra responsibility. When you broadcast, you must:

  • Demonstrate honestly. Show the real product you are selling. Do not use another item, a doctored image or misleading camera tricks to make a product look different from what will actually be delivered.
  • Make accurate claims. Describe materials, size, condition, origin, features and results truthfully. Do not promise outcomes you cannot support, and do not make health, safety or performance claims that are false or unproven.
  • Price and discount fairly. Do not invent a fake "original" price to exaggerate a discount, and do not display countdowns, "last item" warnings or stock levels that are not real. Any discount, bundle or promotion must be genuine.
  • Disclose the important details. Make delivery times, delivery fees, variants, and any conditions clear, consistent with what is shown at checkout and with our Payments & Refunds Policy and Delivery & Order Management Policy.
  • Keep streams appropriate. No adult, violent, hateful or otherwise prohibited content, and no harassment of viewers. You are responsible for what happens on your stream, including moderating your own chat.
  • Respect intellectual property. Only show and sell goods you are entitled to sell, and do not use others' trademarks, logos, music or content unlawfully — see the Intellectual Property & Infringement Policy.

Sellers must also follow the Seller Agreement and give consumers accurate information in an appropriate language, as required by Uzbek consumer-protection and electronic-commerce law.

6. Reviews and ratings

Reviews and ratings help Buyers make good choices, so they must be genuine and first-hand. When you leave a review or rating:

  • Write from real experience. Only review products you actually bought and received through Dona.
  • Be honest and specific. Describe what you liked or disliked and why. Fair criticism is welcome; abuse, threats and hate speech are not.
  • No incentivised or fake reviews. Do not accept money, free products, discounts or other rewards in exchange for a review, and do not post reviews for products you never used. Sellers must not create, buy, solicit or exchange fake reviews, and must not pressure Buyers to change or remove honest ones.
  • No manipulation. Do not use multiple accounts, bots or coordinated groups to inflate or sink a rating.
  • Keep it relevant and clean. Reviews should be about the product and the buying experience — not personal data, advertising, off-topic content or links to other platforms.

We may remove reviews that break these rules and take action against accounts that manipulate ratings. Honest reviews — including critical ones — will not be removed simply because a Seller dislikes them.

7. Protecting minors

Keeping young people safe is a priority for the whole community.

  • Dona is intended for users who meet the minimum age required by applicable law. You must meet that age to register and use the platform.
  • Content that sexualises, endangers or exploits minors is strictly forbidden and will be removed. Where the law requires, we will report such content to the competent authorities and cooperate with them.
  • Do not target minors with age-restricted products, adult content, or content that encourages dangerous behaviour.
  • If you believe a minor is using Dona unsupervised in a way that puts them at risk, or you see content that endangers a child, report it immediately using the in-app tools or by emailing hello@dona.uz with a clear subject line.

This section works together with our Safety & Harmful Content Policy and Privacy Policy.

8. Protecting people's privacy

Respect other people's personal information the way you would want yours respected.

  • Do not post or ask for someone else's phone number, home or delivery address, payment or card details, identity documents, or private photos and messages.
  • Do not share private conversations or screenshots that reveal another person's data without their consent.
  • Sellers who receive Buyer information to fulfil orders — such as name, phone number and delivery address — must use it only to complete and support that order, keep it secure, and never sell it or use it for unrelated marketing.

Our own handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Misusing other people's data is a serious breach of these Guidelines and may also breach the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Personal Data".

9. Authenticity and impersonation

Real connection depends on people being who they say they are.

  • Do not impersonate Dona, GreenApps, our staff, a payment provider, a delivery partner, a Seller, a brand, or any other person or organisation.
  • Do not create accounts using someone else's identity, or set up misleading profiles designed to trick people.
  • Sellers must represent their business honestly, including their name and, where relevant, their business registration, as required by electronic-commerce and consumer-protection law.
  • Do not falsely claim to be endorsed by, affiliated with or acting on behalf of Dona.

If you receive a message claiming to be from Dona that asks for your password, full card number or a one-time code (OTP), treat it as suspicious and report it — we will never ask for these in that way.

10. Reporting and blocking

Everyone helps keep Dona healthy by reporting problems. We give you tools to do that:

  • Report content, streams, listings, reviews or accounts that break these Guidelines using the in-app report options, or email hello@dona.uz with a clear subject line (for example, "Report — misleading listing"). Tell us what you saw and where, so we can review it quickly.
  • Block other users to stop them contacting you or appearing in your chats.
  • Urgent safety issues — such as content that endangers a child or threatens someone's life — should be reported immediately and, where appropriate, to the relevant authorities. See the Safety & Harmful Content Policy.

We review reports and take action based on these Guidelines and our other policies. Reporting in good faith will not count against you. Deliberately filing false or abusive reports to harass others, however, is itself a breach of these Guidelines.

11. How we moderate and enforce

We use a combination of automated systems and human review to moderate live streams, chat, reviews, listings and other UGC. When something breaks these Guidelines, we choose a response that fits how serious and how repeated the behaviour is. Our usual enforcement ladder is:

  • Warning — we tell you what went wrong and ask you to correct it.
  • Content removal — we take down the offending message, review, listing, stream segment or other content.
  • Feature limits — we temporarily restrict what you can do, such as going live, posting reviews, chatting or listing new products.
  • Suspension — we pause your account for a period of time.
  • Ban — for serious or repeated breaches, we permanently close your access to Dona.

We do not always move through every step in order. Serious harm — such as content that endangers minors, fraud, or illegal goods — can lead to immediate removal, suspension or a permanent ban, and, where required by law, a report to the authorities. Enforcement under these Guidelines is separate from, and in addition to, any consequences under the Terms & Conditions, Seller Agreement or applicable law, including the handling of orders, refunds and payouts.

12. Appeals

We want enforcement to be fair, and we know we can make mistakes.

  • If we remove your content or restrict your account and you believe we got it wrong, you can appeal by emailing hello@dona.uz with a clear subject line (for example, "Appeal — account restriction") and any details or context that help us understand.
  • We will review your appeal and let you know the outcome. Where we find we acted incorrectly, we will restore the content or access.
  • Using the appeal process in good faith is always fine. Nothing in this process limits the rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection and personal-data law of the Republic of Uzbekistan, or your ability to raise a matter with the competent Uzbek authorities or courts.

13. How these Guidelines work with Uzbek law

These Guidelines are community rules, not a replacement for the law. They operate alongside the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the Law "On Protection of Consumers' Rights", the Law "On Electronic Commerce", the Law "On Personal Data", and rules on advertising, competition and restricted goods.

While our Terms & Conditions may state Singapore governing law and courts for the wider contract, the mandatory consumer-protection and personal-data provisions of the Republic of Uzbekistan apply to users in Uzbekistan and prevail over anything inconsistent with them. Nothing in these Guidelines removes or limits those rights, and you may always raise a concern with the competent Uzbek consumer-protection body or courts.

Dona is generally an intermediary marketplace: independent Sellers are responsible for their listings, product quality, descriptions, pricing and delivery, and Dona is usually not the seller and not a party to the sale contract between Buyer and Seller, except where expressly stated.

14. Changes to these Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time — for example, to reflect new features, new kinds of content, or changes in the law. When we make a material change, we will update the "last updated" date shown above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app, on https://dona.uz, or by other reasonable means.

The version in force is the one published on Dona at the date shown above. If you keep using Dona after an update takes effect, you accept the updated Guidelines. If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using the affected features and may close your account as described in the Account Management & Deletion Policy.

15. Contact us
