Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated:

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") sets out the rules for using Dona — an online marketplace and live-video shopping service for Uzbekistan — and applies to everyone who uses it: Buyers, Sellers, and anyone who browses, streams, chats, posts content, or otherwise accesses the platform. Dona is operated by GreenApps Private Limited ("GreenApps", "we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated in Singapore with its registered office at 20 Collyer Quay #09-01, Singapore 049319. Dona is an intermediary marketplace: independent third-party Sellers list products, broadcast live, and sell to Buyers, and Dona is generally not the seller and not a party to the sale contract.

This Policy is provided for transparency and to keep Dona safe, lawful and trustworthy for everyone. It works together with our Terms & Conditions and the other policies referenced below. It does not override or limit your mandatory rights under the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including consumer-protection and personal-data law; where those laws grant you rights that this Policy does not, those laws prevail for users in Uzbekistan.

1. Who this Policy applies to

This Policy applies to all users of the Dona website at https://dona.uz and the Dona mobile applications for iOS and Android (application id im.dona.app), whether registered or not, and whether acting as a Buyer, a Seller, or both. A single account may act in both roles; the rules here apply to everything you do under that account.

By creating an account, accessing Dona, or using any feature — browsing, buying, selling, going live, watching a live stream, chatting, reacting, reviewing, or posting any other content — you agree to follow this Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use Dona.

You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login (your phone number and one-time code) secure.

2. General principle: lawful, honest and respectful use

Use Dona lawfully, honestly and with respect for others. In short, you must:

  • Comply with all applicable laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan and any other law that applies to you.
  • Be truthful — do not deceive, mislead or defraud other users, Sellers, Buyers or Dona.
  • Respect the rights, safety and dignity of other people, including their privacy and intellectual property.
  • Use the platform only for its intended purposes: discovering, showcasing, buying and selling genuine products, and taking part in live commerce in good faith.
  • Follow the specific rules in this Policy and in the other policies it references.

If something is illegal offline, it is not allowed on Dona. If you are unsure whether an activity is permitted, treat it as not permitted and contact us at hello@dona.uz before proceeding.

3. No illegal activity

You must not use Dona to commit, facilitate, promote or conceal any activity that is unlawful under the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan or any other applicable law. This includes, without limitation:

  • Trading in goods or services that are illegal, or whose sale is prohibited or restricted (see our Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy).
  • Money laundering, financing of illegal activity, tax evasion, or handling proceeds of crime.
  • Sale of stolen, smuggled or counterfeit goods.
  • Any activity that violates advertising, competition, consumer-protection, e-commerce, payments, or tax law.

We cooperate with law-enforcement and competent state authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan where required by law, and we may report suspected criminal activity.

4. No fraud, scams or deceptive conduct

Honesty is essential to a marketplace. You must not engage in fraud, scams or any deceptive conduct, including:

  • Creating fake or misleading listings, or advertising products you do not have, cannot supply, or do not intend to deliver.
  • Misrepresenting a product's identity, origin, brand, condition, quantity, authenticity, quality, or price.
  • "Bait-and-switch" tactics, hidden charges, or misleading discounts and "was/now" pricing.
  • Phishing, or tricking users into revealing personal data, passwords, one-time codes, card details or payment information.
  • Non-delivery of paid goods, or accepting payment with no intention to fulfil the order.
  • Chargeback fraud, refund fraud, or falsely claiming goods were not received or were defective.
  • Any scheme designed to obtain money, goods, data or an advantage by deception.

Sellers must provide accurate information about their products in an appropriate language, as required by the Law "On Protection of Consumers' Rights" and the Law "On Electronic Commerce". See also the Seller Agreement and Payments & Refunds Policy.

5. Respect the rights of others (intellectual property)

You must not upload, list, broadcast, sell or share anything that infringes the intellectual-property or other rights of another person, including copyright, trademarks, brand names, designs, patents, trade secrets, or image/personality rights.

Examples of prohibited conduct:

  • Selling counterfeit, replica or unauthorised branded goods.
  • Using another party's photos, videos, text, logos or trademarks without permission.
  • Broadcasting music, film or other content during a live stream without the necessary rights.

If you believe content on Dona infringes your rights, please report it as set out in our Intellectual Property & Infringement Policy. We remove infringing content and may act against repeat infringers.

6. No harmful, abusive or unsafe content or conduct

Dona hosts live video, chat, reactions, reviews and other user-generated content. You must not post, broadcast, stream or transmit content — or behave — in a way that is harmful, abusive or unsafe. This includes:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation or stalking of any person.
  • Hate speech or content that incites hatred, discrimination or violence against a person or group.
  • Violent, graphic, or shocking content; content that promotes self-harm, dangerous acts, or exploitation.
  • Sexual content, pornography, or any content that sexualises or endangers minors (strictly prohibited and reported to authorities).
  • Content that is defamatory, obscene, or grossly offensive.

These rules are detailed in our Safety & Harmful Content Policy and Community Guidelines, which form part of this Policy. Live streams and UGC are subject to moderation, and we may remove content or end a broadcast at any time.

7. No selling of prohibited or restricted items

You must not offer, list, promote or sell any item or service that is prohibited or that you are not authorised or licensed to sell. Prohibited and restricted categories include, without limitation, weapons and ammunition; drugs, narcotics and their precursors; medicines and medical devices requiring authorisation; alcohol and tobacco products (subject to legal restrictions); counterfeit goods; and any other items restricted or banned under the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The full list and the conditions that apply to restricted categories are set out in our Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy. Sellers are responsible for holding any licence, permit or authorisation required to sell a given item and for complying with all labelling and disclosure requirements.

8. No manipulation of the platform

You must not manipulate Dona, its rankings, its metrics or its community. Prohibited manipulation includes:

  • Creating or operating fake, duplicate or bulk accounts, or accounts registered with someone else's phone number.
  • Using bots, scripts or automated means to interact, buy, sell, follow, chat or inflate viewer counts, likes or reactions.
  • Posting fake, incentivised or misleading reviews and ratings, or removing genuine negative reviews through improper means.
  • Coordinated or artificial engagement, vote/review trading, or paying for fake engagement.
  • Price manipulation, collusion, bid manipulation, or artificial scarcity designed to mislead Buyers.
  • Gaming search, recommendation, promotion or reward systems.

Reviews and ratings must reflect genuine, first-hand experience. Manipulation undermines trust and is grounds for enforcement action.

9. No security abuse

You must not attack, probe, or undermine the security or integrity of Dona or its infrastructure. You must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, server, database or network, or to any data you are not entitled to.
  • Hack, breach, defeat, or circumvent security, authentication, rate-limiting, or access controls.
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest or data-mine the platform or its content by automated means without our prior written permission.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the apps or services, except to the limited extent permitted by law.
  • Introduce or distribute malware, viruses, worms, or other harmful code.
  • Overload, flood, disrupt or degrade the platform (for example, denial-of-service attacks) or interfere with its normal operation.

If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to hello@dona.uz with a clear subject line, and do not exploit it or disclose it publicly.

10. No spam or unsolicited marketing

You must not use Dona to send spam or unsolicited communications. This includes:

  • Bulk, repetitive, or irrelevant messages in chat, reviews, listings or private messages.
  • Unsolicited advertising or promotion of external products, services, websites, or businesses.
  • Pyramid schemes, chain messages, "get rich quick" offers, or misleading promotions.
  • Harvesting other users' contact details for marketing without consent.
  • Redirecting users to off-platform channels for the purpose of unsolicited marketing.

Legitimate marketing of your own listings within Dona's tools is fine; abusing communication features to spam users is not.

11. No misuse of coins, rewards and promotions

Dona offers an in-app wallet with coins and reward vouchers, plus games and promotions. Coins and reward vouchers have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are non-redeemable for cash except where the law requires. You must not:

  • Buy, sell, trade, transfer or launder coins, vouchers or rewards outside the permitted in-app mechanics.
  • Exploit bugs, glitches, or loopholes to obtain coins, vouchers, discounts or rewards you are not entitled to.
  • Use bots, multiple accounts, or fake engagement to farm rewards, votes, or promotional payouts.
  • Abuse referral, share-with-reward, or promotional programmes through fake, self-referred or fraudulent activity.

We may withhold, reverse, expire or cancel coins, vouchers and rewards obtained in breach of this Policy, and adjust balances to correct abuse. See the Terms & Conditions and Payments & Refunds Policy.

12. No off-platform circumvention of fees

Sellers must complete transactions that originate on Dona through Dona and its supported payment methods. You must not:

  • Divert Buyers to complete a Dona-originated sale off-platform in order to avoid fees, commission or platform protections.
  • Solicit or arrange direct payment outside Dona's approved payment channels for orders placed or negotiated on the platform.
  • Share contact details or external links for the purpose of circumventing fees, moderation, or Buyer/Seller protections.

The commission and fees that apply are those shown in your Seller dashboard and in the Seller Agreement. Off-platform circumvention denies Buyers their protections and is a serious breach.

13. No impersonation or misrepresentation

You must not impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation. This includes:

  • Pretending to be another user, a Seller, a brand, Dona/GreenApps staff, or a public authority.
  • Falsely claiming an endorsement, partnership, verification, or official status you do not have.
  • Providing false registration, business, licensing or contact information.
  • Using another person's identity, account, or payment details without authorisation.

Sellers who are registered businesses must provide accurate business and contact information as required by the Law "On Electronic Commerce".

14. Do not interfere with other users or the service

You must not interfere with other users' ability to use Dona, or with the operation of the service itself. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Disrupting live streams, flooding chat, or deliberately derailing another Seller's broadcast.
  • Collecting, storing or publishing other users' personal data without a lawful basis and their consent (see our Privacy Policy).
  • Threatening, coercing, or retaliating against users who leave honest reviews or report violations.
  • Taking any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionate load on our infrastructure.
  • Bypassing or attempting to bypass moderation, blocks, suspensions, or account restrictions.

15. Consequences and enforcement

We enforce this Policy to keep Dona safe and trustworthy. Depending on the nature and severity of a breach, and taking into account any repeat conduct, we may take one or more of the following actions, proportionate to the circumstances:

  • Issue a warning or request corrective action.
  • Remove, hide, edit, age-restrict, or refuse to display listings, live streams, reviews, or other content.
  • Limit features, reduce visibility, or withhold rewards, coins, vouchers or payouts.
  • Suspend or restrict your account temporarily.
  • Terminate your account and your access to Dona.
  • Cancel or reverse affected transactions where permitted.
  • Take legal action to recover losses, and report suspected illegal activity to law-enforcement or competent authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Where we can reasonably do so, we will tell you what happened and why, and — except where the law, an ongoing investigation, or the safety of others prevents it — how you can respond or appeal. Enforcement under this Policy does not limit any other remedy available to us under the Terms & Conditions or applicable law, and does not affect your mandatory rights, or a Buyer's consumer rights, under the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

16. How to report a violation

If you see content or conduct that breaches this Policy, please report it. Many surfaces in the app include in-product reporting tools; you can also email us.

  • Email: hello@dona.uz, with a clear subject line (for example, "AUP report").
  • Include, where possible: links or screenshots, the account or listing involved, the date and time, and a short description of the problem.

For intellectual-property complaints, follow the Intellectual Property & Infringement Policy; for safety and harmful-content concerns, see the Safety & Harmful Content Policy. We review reports and act as appropriate. Urgent safety risks are prioritised, and where there is a risk to life or a serious crime, we may contact the relevant authorities.

17. Relationship with our other policies and Uzbek law

This Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Community Guidelines, Safety & Harmful Content Policy, Intellectual Property & Infringement Policy, Seller Agreement, Payments & Refunds Policy, Delivery & Order Management Policy, Account Management & Deletion Policy, and Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy.

Nothing in this Policy limits or excludes your mandatory rights under the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the Law "On Protection of Consumers' Rights" and the Law "On Personal Data". While our corporate terms may be governed by the law of Singapore, the mandatory consumer-protection and personal-data provisions of the Republic of Uzbekistan apply to users in Uzbekistan and prevail. You may also have the right to bring your concern to the competent consumer-protection body or courts of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

18. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time — for example, to reflect changes in the law, in our services, or in the risks we see on the platform. The current version is always available in the app and on our website, and the "last updated" date is the date shown above.

Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example through the app or by other appropriate means. By continuing to use Dona after an updated Policy takes effect, you accept the updated Policy.
