How to choose a monitor in 2026 — for gaming, work and study
24, 25, 27 or 34 inches? What do IPS, 144 Hz and QHD mean? A plain guide to picking a monitor in 2026 with real prices from the 170+ monitors on Dona.

1. What for?

At 27 inches FHD looks slightly grainy; QHD is crisp. If the budget allows, go QHD at 27”.
3. Panel type
IPS: accurate colours, wide viewing angles. VA: strong contrast, deep blacks. TN: cheap and fast, weak colours. In 2026 IPS is the right call for most people, and most monitors on Dona are IPS.
